what is an acceptable frame rate for a game?

i was playing FEAR (again) and decided to really push my gfx card to the max. the tester rolling demo thing said that 53% of the time the frame rate was under 25fps. is this a really bad frame rate?

im asking because not in that rolling demo it uses, and neither in the gameplay itself was there any noticeable lag nor did it look really bad - this is the combined oppinion of four ppl and one is a fanatic having teh game run perfectly.

Above 30 is usually best, although some people like to go above 60. But I say if you don't notice any lag, and it looks good, the frame rate is good nuff.

Its all about what you feel for FPS, personally anything below 50 bugs me, and below 35 or so makes me feel sick and I cant play the game. This might be better on lcd monitors I dont know, if it looks fine for you at those fps then play it.
