Framerate issues

When I first built my pc about two months ago, one of the first games I played was Painkiller HD, and it ran perfectly. Consistently 60fps throughout the whole game. Now I consistently get bad framerates (20fps during any action). Other games that ran well now seem a bit clunky around the edges too. I know a pc slowly gets worse over time, but this seems a bit extreme.

Specs are i5 4670, GTX 770 2GB, 8GB Corsair Vengeance DDR3

What's happened/solutions?

Check for any background processes that are using up resources heavily. Make sure your temps are acceptable on both CPU and GPU. You could either have a resource hog program taking up CPU or RAM or your temps could be high causing you to throttle.

As well as the above advice it could be a power issue (power supply) as well. Download and install HW monitor and post the screen here while idle and also when gaming. if you like That way we can see temps and your +12v rail as well.

What power supply do you have?
