F.E.A.R. and BSOD

I installed F.E.A.R. the other day. Now I randomly get the BSOD and it reboots Is this a known issue? I looked around and didn't see anything. Is there a way to prevent this? And what may be causing it? I just installed the 1.02 patch and hopefully that will help.

EDIT: the game doesn't necessarily have to be running when the BSOD happens.

well if it makes you feel any better, F.E.A.R is riddled with problems. like for me, at random spots, the game will freeze and crash to the desktop, or slow down to a crawl, and then crash to desktop and say "Out of memory!"

yea...but this is when the game isn't even running. I dunno. I hasn't done it since I installed the new patch so hopefully that fixed it.

For those of you that don't know...BSOD means blue screen of death...

Do a memtest... You RAM is probably shot.
