No

I got a FX5700 256Mb. I could play it. But the graphics really made the game rather uniteresting to play.
I was playing F.E.A.R. for a few hours and I was just thinking, I might as well be playing HL2 or Doom III and getting more enjoyment out of the game.

F.E.A.R system requirements

* Windows ® 2000/XP with latest service pack installed
* DirectX(tm) 9.0c
* Pentium ® 4 1.7 Ghz or equivalent
* 1GB RAM
* 128 MB DirectX ® 9.0 Compliant Video Card with hardware T&L and pixel shader support*
* 3.0 GB free Hard Drive Space for installation
* Additional hard drive space for a Windows swap file and saved game files.
* 16-bit DirectX 9.0 compliant sound card with support for EAX 2.0
* Broadband connection for multiplayer games.
* Mouse & Keyboard

when I tried to play it it just popped up with a message sayin somethin about how my card doesnt support pixel shader

because ur video card geforce4 mx440 is a directx7.0 so it doesn't support pixel shader

Was that on their reccomendations or yours? Personally I think everyones taking the requirements a bit out of proportion. I have a 9800 card 128 mb and it ran awesome on medium, 50 fps or more at all times. My friend has an athlon 2600, radeon 9600, and it ran fine on medium settings aswell.

IMO FEAR doesnt really look any better then doom or half life 2, it has slow motion which is where the system reqs come in I guess. Alrhough my theory about the slow motion is even if you have a lower fps in it, it really doesnt matter since the games playing in slow motion :).

if u run FEAR in highest setting, it will look much better than both doom3 and HL2.
but u need atleast 7800GT to run it on high setting
