enter the matrix dont work on my system

hey.(this is my fist time on this site so im not sure what info to give lol).i bought enter the matrix and installed it onto my windows XP pro system.The installation is fine but then when i try to run the game it doesnt go any further than the screen where u choose the display options..there are no promts,it doesnt freeze or crash the pc.The game just doesnt load up.I have the same problem with GTA 3 ...everytime that i reinstall either of the two games the game would work once and then not again .(my pc reaches all the recommended hardware requirements for both games)
can anyone help me?
