Day of Defeat

does anyone play this game? its on steam..i think its an alright game but my computer lags. what kind of cheap video card would help me play day of defeat without any lag at all?

DoD:S is coming out soon and people will no longer play DoD really

2 6800 U's would play with no lag at all

But a 6600GT would be realistic for DoD and DoD:S

Never had much lag with my old geforce3, but whatever.

I love DoD...but the public servers are a thrall of hackers, especially since the CS code got ported into it.

I ran private servers for a number of years (3-4) and did some matches/meets...I just haven't had the time lately to really play.

Are you kidding? Day of Defeat is a really, really old game. Almost as old as Counter Strike.

For a video card, I would have to recommend a 9600 XT or 9800 PRO to get you started.

A 6600 GT would be overkill for a game this old. Now for Half Life 2 I could understand... and maybe DOD Source, but that won't be out for a while.

It's coming out. I also have played DoD since beta 1.3, so i know about it

Good ol' DoD will be awsome when some maps get remade with the new engine. The worlds can be so much more complex and dynamic, and a game like DoD demands that kind of stuff.
