Curse of monkey island help!

Ok so recently I decided to replay one of my favorite games, the curse of monkey island. The game is made in 1997 on direct x 5 and designed to work for windows 95. I've played it before on other windows xp pc's with no problems but for some reason when I try and play it on my computer the sound gets stuck sometimes and loops. Is there anything I can do to fix this problem or am I just out of luck.

I think you need to upgrade to play it.




Ok, on the more serious note (The above was a joke) these olders games as well as poorly written games are coded in a different way than games today are coded. They use windows to interface with the hardware less, making some of these games unplayable on certain hardware.

Curses, I think what Im gonna do is put windows 98SE on my old 1ghz computer. I'll use that to play all my old games. Too many games don't work on windows xp with newer hardware it seems. When I need to do a swashbuckling adventure game I cant have hardware holding me back.
