They are Directx 10 cards for under 250 bucks, and until ATI releases their competition to the 8800, which will cause prices on both cards to drop, it will get you by.

Is it only me that knows that them system requirements have been out over 6 months and are not official at all and are just a guess. A bad guess.

If it was to be realistic, in my opinion, it would be like this.

Minimum:

Dual Core Athlon 3600
1.25GB Ram on Vista (... CoD2 struggles wid 1GB of ram on Vista)
DX9: 6800GS / X1600XT

Reccommended:

C2D E6300/ X2 4200
2GB Ram on Vista
DX9: X1950Pro/7900GT --- DX10: 8600GTS

High(est?):

C2D E6600/ X2 5400+
2GB Ram on Vista
DX9: X1950XTX/7950GT --- DX10: 8800GTS/X2900XT


remember reccomended is for mid-high settings, hence no 8800.

I doubt that it will only use 6GB of HD space. S.T.A.L.K.E.R. took 10. ...and I am guessing that an 8800GTS will not play the game maxed out with anything more than 45fps.

/\ Agreed. 13-15 gbs and a maxed it will struggle. However, I imagine that max and medium are hard to distinguish to the eye, thus medium (for the first time ever) would look AMAZING and we'd all have decent fps...

Vista isnt "required" to run the game only "recommended" for DX10 obviously
