Crysis Maxed out

People have been asking me what video card(s) will play Crysis on "Very High" settings unOC'd. I just said the GX2 because I honestly wasn't sure.

Can someone please help me out, so I can give them a real answer? =D

+I'm sure other people may be wondering the same thing.

it depends on what res there playin at, if its small a 8800gt, med-high id say a g92 gts or 8800gtx or 9800gtx. 9800gx2 is gonna fail imo just like the7950gx2

my 8800 ultra maxes out 1280x1024 dx10 vista with no frame skipping and none of that fake file editing stuff.

i doubt it can do 1400xwhatever though. i havent tried and don't feel like installin it again just to see. the replay value died off pretty quick, even with the sandbox editor.

med - 1280x1024/1440x900
large...

w/ my 9800gtx i prolly wouldnt play it over 1680x1050 but my moniter doesnt support that res it im stuck at 1920x1200 or 1440x900 so gotta play it at 1440

but it also depends on what fps u want to play it at, at upper 30's its playable you will notice low fps though. if u want a solid 60 or above your gonna need some power. i played the whole game through at 1280x1024 w/ a gts 640 with all on high, didnt get the hack, and it wasnt bad

but it comes down to no single card is gonna max this game out with a big res(1920x1200/1600x1200) and be smooth. expecially with the extra high hack

and I just thought, doesn't Vista take the slightest bit more from your GPU than XP anyway?
So with the hack on XP it would run smoother?
ANYWAYS that probably didn't make sense.
but thanks for clearing up the resolutions and the fact that no card will run it maxed on a higher resolution =]

That did make sense XD Yeah its pretty much guarenteed to run smoother on xp.

Two GX2 or two 3870X2 would do it.

Course just make that two 9900GX2 or two 4870X2 when they come out..

Course it all depends what definition of smooth we are using.

To me anything over 40 FPS is fine. course I am limited to 1440X900.

Maxed out would be all settings @ Very High, 2560x1600 with 16xQAA @ a minimum of 60 frames per second

and there's nothing that can do that now =\
