counter strike sorce not telling true ping

man my ping shoots from 100 to 330 at any given time but im never laging and game play doesnt change. could cs.s not be reading my ping right? if so it sucks because i keep getting kicked being told to get a real internet connection. but i have a 1.5 meg dsl connection

Try joining servers where you can get a low ping. My ping is in the 10-15. The server i play in is from TX.

Some cmd's that might help.
rate "25000"
cl_updaterate "101"
cl_cmdrate "101"
And type net_graph 3 to see whats coming in and out. And it will give you a true ping.
