Constant crashes at Launch

The problem is, everytime I start certain game- I click "New Game" and it crashes back to Windows with no error...The games are :
Black And White 2
The Movies
GUN

My specs are :
AMD Athlon™ XP 2700+ Processor (2.167 GHz) with QuantiSpeed™ architecture
Microsoft® Windows® XP Home Edition
1 GB Corsair Memory
VIA KM 400 Chipset
4x DVD±RW Drive; 16x Max. DVD-ROM Drive; 3.5" 1.44MB FDD
Sound Blaster Live 24-bit
Sapphire Radeon 9600XT

have ALL the patches for ALL the games?

for VGA card, Chipset, Mobo, Sound Card updated?

close any background programs you are not using, like anti-virus etc.

VIA drivers NEED the 4-in-1 drivers to work or you'll have these constant crashes.

also, what type/watts is your Power supply? you may/may not have enough juice.

All drivers are updated...Does the same....

i had this problem...but i had to reinstall windows cause i got a new HDD...after that it worked fine...so it must be something to do with the HDD or Windows....but i would try to reinstall the games again before taking further action

I don't trust program voltages but they seem within range. Reinstall the games prehaps. Also like someone else said, what power supply?

If reinstalling games fails, repair windows, if that fails reformat.
