I have been trying over and over to find a good PC for low cost. I would prefer to upgrade a low cost computer, but I will build one if need be. These are the items im looking for under 1000$.
2.5Ghz+ processor
1 Gig+ DDR RAM
256MB Video card
everything else basic

Anyone else ever build a computer like this that could help me?

I was going to do eMachine, upgraded, but it looks like I cant upgrade the graphics card???

I went on tigerdirect.com and built this computer, it was 660 with shipping. If its all compatible, which i think it is, should i go with it?

Lol, also I guess id change the tower to because the 425 Watt supply, or should i go to 500? Im not a computer geek yet, so im not sure how all this will work?

DO NOT get a celeron processor whatever you do. Worst damn processor there is. If you like Intel go with P4, there are some affordable good ones out there. If you want to build from scratch, go to pricewatch.com

Since ur on budget. I believe u can make a customized NICE amd athlon xp system. get 2800+ barton core. Newegg has it for like 111$. Also a 9600xt shuld suit u just fine as ur vid card. If u wana step it up go with a 9800pro. As for hardrive, go with like eithe r an 80Gb hardrive or a 120GB hardrive. For the mobo, get an ASUS A7N8X-X NFORCE2...its good and has nice intergrated sound so u will not need to purchase a...sound card. Now the ram, if u have the money go with 2 sticks of 512 DDR ( good brand like kingston,corsair,ocz.) or if u don't have the miney go with 2 sticks of good 256 DDR ram which will equal to 512 ram in total. There is a good gaming pc site, offers free shipping on gaming pcs. www.bluedaemon.com. You can find a nice config for like 1,100 i think. I hope i helped u in a way.
