COD5 Beta Error

Ok I just installed COD5 Beta and I get this error message

This application has failed to start because d3dx9.dll was not found. Re-installed may fix the problem

I have vista x64, dx10

You need to install dx9 august 08 version.

that fixed the problem for me initially, so the game boots now, but, crashes and an error says

Unhandled exception in programming terms means the programmers "missed a spot" . Your computer produced an exception but there was no code to catch it. There is nothing you can do to fix that tainted. Contact them like Mak said.

People say that installing the Aug 2008 DX9 will fix it, however it didn't work for me, nor did it work for my friend.

Are you on Vista?

nah im on xp 32, did i miss something and its vista only?

I had that error and installing dx9 fixed it.
