COD 2 Lag

When I first had the game installed, it was lagging, but I did some research, and it turned out anti-aliasing was the culprit...I disabled it, and it worked fine. Then I started to increase the settings...I had them all maxed out and it was running fine, until a few days ago. Then the lag came back. I reset it to the optimal defaults and turned off the anti-aliasing again, but it still lags a ton. I can't figure it out.

Any help with this, because it's so annoying and it ****es me off I can't figure it out.

try changing ur direct x to 7, thats works for me, even thou ur game and graphics card say 9, it still lags but i put it on 7
