BioShock installation failed

I enter the serial number exactly how it appears but it gives me a error message "activation failed cause serial number is incorrect" Ive tried inputting the serial number with and without the "-"

Is the game new or used? If used, steam wont let you re-activate it without paying a fee i believe.

if new, you could be putting in a 0 (zero) where an O (letter O) should be?

I didnt get the game off steam. It is used but ive been able to install it before. I sent an email to the bioshock ppl about, yet to receive a reply though.

I remember that this was one of the first games that if you loaded it more than 5 times it would lock up on you. You might have to call the company and let them know what the situation is and go from there...
