BF2 Key problem

I can't bind Crouch to Left Shift on Common controls. IT says it has been taken by air/land/water controls but i deleted them all! STILL it says that! ARRGHHHH Anyone have any ideas?

Code problem in the game, I used to have similar issues.

reinstall.

I use ALT for Crouch. Swing the thumb in off the space bar...
Prone I use mouse wheel click.

I'll admit I don't play BF2, so take my advice or leave it.

Anyway, it's been my experience that some games recognize the left and right modifier keys as seperate keys, so when setting up a key-bind, you have to explicitly define them. (ie - l_alt r_alt)

Just a guess.

I know a similar thing happened for me when i was setting my flight controls. For some reason the game didn't like me setting a certain joystick direction to turn a helicopter. It seemed to be all in the order in which you do stuff, so for example, set all controls to default, and try deleting just the key you want to change, and then try putting the control in. Hopefully that will work!

heres how to fix it:

uninstall, reinstall, do not update, set your controls, then update, and do not mess with your controls. That will work. Had to to it after i installed Special Forces.
