STALKER is most certainly going to come out eventually (missed that link but now I see it IS coming out) but it's simply pulling a HL2 and being pushed back and back and back for whatever reason...my assumption is it's going to along the lines of Unreal 3 where they want the engine to take advantage of muliple threads and physics cards and all that jazz
It's anyones guess to how good it will actually be though...the Source engine was delayed for so long and it was still so advanced for it's period the Stalker engine is going to have to be hugely demanding at the rate it's been pushed back...the wait for HL2 was well worth it as that game delivered and stalker better freaking do the same thing
I remember seeing screenshots for stalker almost a year ago though and the last release date I heard prior to this was February 06 =/
