ATI vs Nvidia

OK, so the prolonged rivalry has finally met the PC gaming boards. My friends and I are always arguing about which is better ATI or Nvidia (I prefer Nvidia at the time). I was just wondering if you guys (or girls) could give me some response about this topic. Which is better for the money? Which is most powerful? Have you ever had any trouble with either? This is just an interest thread that I would like to see discussed among fellow PC gamers. Please do not get angry or flame because it's just a video card...keep it clean and express your opinion. This is a "creative discussion", not an argument-
