AOE 2 and GTA 2 on WinXP SP2

I've just got Age of Empires 2 : Age of Kings and GTA2. I installed them successfully but whenever i run them, the usual windows XP End Program dialog box comes which states that this program needed to close etc.. and then there are two buttons - Send/Don't send. I have recently upgraded to Win XP Professional Service Pack 2. I hope i'll be able to play these games. ANY SOLUTIONS???

whats your system spec? (not that it should make a difference with those OLD style games)

Right click on their icons on the desktop and click properties, then run in 'compatibility mode'

P3 933Mhz, Intel 82810 chipset 128 MB RAM, 20 GB HDD

And I've tried compatibility mode. Doesn't work either. Any more suggestions??
