any advice for good LCD monitors for gaming?

but it seems that the contrast ratio is 700:1, should i buy this monitor n hope for the best or try to get a better contrast ratio?

there a difference in games when the contrast ratio is higher then 700:1?

i was given advice in a differ forum to try to get this one instead after mail-in rebate:

They're both good. The 5ms response time is nice. 700:1 contrast ratio is fine. Pick up whichever one you want.

but wouldnt i notice a huge difference if (hypothetically) i bought both monitors, played a game *in this case BF: 2142* side by side simultaneously? Because one monitor's contrast ratio is 700:1 n the other 1000:1.
