Basically, yes.

can you still have a graphically nice looking experience without it?

That's subjective Personally, I would say, no.

Also monitor size in relation to resolution matters.

I agree with guru :s Most people dont find a difference. But even when running at 1920x1200 I still cant stand playing without it on.

Theres No excuse for edges to look like jagged saw blades these days. Especially with any new games being released.

I dont know wether or not its a G92 problem, seeing as rican seems to have no problem, But I can usually put it up to 4x or 8x in anything without much trouble. I can't quite pull off 16x but most cases it doesnt matter anyway.
