Yha that was a bomb of a news story addition to the site... I could probably find 10 other articles that would have been more informative

It is a Literature form, called Satire. It is not supposed to make literal sense. What it does is provide humor in an otherwise non-humorous circumstance. It is not meant to be accurate in the sense you expected, but to provoke thought.

Satire in Literature, is much like a genre of music. I would not expect Stevie Ray Vaughan to be much appreciated by those who, say, only listen to C&W. Likewise, Technical Writing does not have much in common with Poetry, either.

It is hard to believe that, as evidenced by the overwhelming response not only here but from the Source noted below the article, that the teaching of English Literature is so sorely remiss. Alas! Such are the times!

BTW -- thank you, David S., for the welcome repost of the satire.

I post anything amusing. Being in the USA, I'd know you Canadians would carry the subject on. Don't see any Canadians post on that Obama thread.

I understand Satire Literature... Unfortunately it was posted as "news". Had it been posted in a non news sense, it'd be taken completely different.

Yes, and I appreciate your incisive comment in Post #7!
I just took it in a different light after the first paragraph -
and enjoyed it for its absurdity (at which the title hints).

This is exactly my point. If it was posted in say OT, I would have taken it differently. Since it is posted in news I was expecting to be updated on the Canadian Internet.....
