Definitely will be interesting, but we might have to survive a little more than a year :P

I will be happy the day they are released not because i want one but it will make developers code for beefier hardware

Will more than likely include 3d technology with the graphics card. Should be interesting to see what they can do with it. I'm thinking 2014, 2013 seems a little too soon, but who knows. Maybe they'll do it right and not have a world wide shortage when they do finally release.

I doubt the consoles will be doing 3d, as it is more work on developers, and very few people have a 3d tv, or even want one.

Yeah not even 10% of new TVs sold in 2011 were 3D-capable.

Meh, 3D seems to be more of a gimmick than anything else. I've seen a few 3D movies and the only thing me/most of the other people I've talked to about them got was a headache and their wallet was a bit lighter than it would have been if they had seen the movie in 2D. The 3D TV's weren't much better either. Best Buy has a few setups where you can try out 3D TV's and while the picture has more depth it's not nearly as sharp as a regular 2D TV.

Agreed. Now that the 3D craze of 2011's died out I don't think we'll be seeing much 3D stuff in future unless it's significantly better than current solutions (i.e. perfect, non-headachey 3D from any angle for cheap).

I refuse to go and watch 3d films after I saw a couple unless i have to (my friends really want to go or I can't get it in 2d). Only the credits are usually 3d and maybe a bullet or spear or something, its not worth the extra 3 or 4 pound. Plus as everyone else said it really hurts your eyes and head.

The only one I've ever seen that was worth it, was Avatar. Now I always go for the 2D version when possible.
