Rockstar Games says it is investigating "isolated" technical issues that cause copies of crime drama L.A. Noire to crash or freeze.
The company released a post on its support website detailing what players can do if their copy crashes on PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360.
Initial reports had suggested a recent firmware update on the PS3 was the culprit, but Sony and Rockstar denied the claim in a joint statement on the official PlayStation blog.
"At this time, Rockstar Games and Sony can confirm that neither L.A. Noire or firmware update 3.61 are causing the PS3 hardware to overheat," reads a statement from Sony spokesman Patrick Seybold. "We are both committed to working hard to find solutions to this and any issues that may arise."
Meanwhile, if your copy of L.A. Noire freezes, Rockstar suggests deleting Game Data (not save data) from your PS3, or clearing your cache if you own a 360. Also, players can try creating fresh save files under a different user name, or simply relaunch the game. More instructions are available on Rockstar's website.
