The newest Lego-themed game will return to the world of Harry Potter to cover the remainder of the series. Lego Harry Potter: Years 5-7 is based on the final three J.K. Rowling books and final four films (the last book, Deathly Hallows, was split into two movies).
As Lego games almost always are, it will be available on nearly every platform out there: Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PSP, NGP, Wii, 3DS, DS, and PC. A listing for the game on handhelds was recently discovered on an animator's resume, so its release on NGP was expected. The game is in development at TT Games, and a press release says it will feature new spells and lessons in addition to everything else you'd expect from Harry's last years at Hogwarts.
"In LEGO Harry Potter: Years 5-7, we are giving gamers a truly epic conclusion to the most successful movie franchise in history with delightful gameplay for fans of all ages," said TT Games Managing Director Tom Stone. "We have built upon the first game and are giving fans even more magical abilities, puzzle solving and exploration, in addition to our distinctive brand of hilarious LEGO humor and charm."
Years 1-4 (pictured above) was released last June, and Years 5-7 is set to be out this holiday season. That puts the series on a similar schedule to that of the Lego Indiana Jones games, which were released 17 months apart.
