"We made a lot of mistakes."
This week's blog post on Halo Waypoint is all about the future of Halo, as 343 Industries' Franchise Development Director Frank O'Connor speaks candidly about the successes and failures of Halo 4.
The developer is learning from itself. "We made a lot of mistakes.... There are a ton of things we wish we'd done better: Features that didnít make it into the final game. Glitches that emerged. Missteps made. DLC fiascos. Communication breakdowns," O'Connor says. "But there were things that went astonishingly well Ė the creation of a genuinely competitive AAA studio chief among them. A collection of talent and souls that can do something genuinely amazing on this and next-generation hardware."
O'Connor and 343 are, of course, extremely proud of Halo 4, which received a remarkable 9.8 score from IGN, and won IGN's Best Xbox 360 Game of the Year award.
Before Halo makes the jump to the next Xbox, Halo 4 will see numerous updates. Spartan Ops returns this month alongside a series of new multiplayer hopper rotations.
