Default Belkin has acquired Linksys

I am not sure where I stand on this one.

Quote:
As of Friday, Linksys’ technologies, including its routers and the popular Smart Wi-Fi portfolio and services, will be managed and maintained as a separate brand and product portfolio by Belkin.

Hmm. I'm mixed on this too, I've never really liked Belkin products all that much but to go from Cisco to Belkin?

I agree... I really dislike Belkin products as well... I just hope that Linksys quality doesn't go down the toilet.

Cisco raped the linksys name and made it worthless imo. Belkin... LOL you can say bye bye to linksys entirely. Some of the crappiest routers i have ever seen come from them.

I have yet to see a D-Link in just about any local "tech hardware" store...of course around here we have staples, officemax, walmart and target basically. They all sell Belkin crap though.

I'm pretty happy with this. If Belkin lets Linksys do their thing without ramming a corporate **** down their throats then we should be getting quality Linksys product again.

Linksys while owned by Cisco was still Linksys, they just put their **** Cisco name all over everything. I'm glad the buyout happened because now Linksys wont have the Cisco cloud spy installed in every router.

Tech companies have proven in the past they buy the name not the integrity of the product. They will likely start shoving their hardware in the Linksys shell saving costs on sub par parts and call it good, while the consumer gets jacked..........even more.

I always got DDWRT-hackable Linksys routers, so not an issue for me.

Personally I use Netgear. I've never had a problem with their equipment and I have thoroughly enjoyed using them. Hell I've had the same router for years.
