Default AVADirect's X7200 Laptop Overachieves 'Desktop Replacement' Status with 24GB RAM Option

If your desktop system is sitting pretty with 24GB of RAM, you're either (A) really into Photoshop, (B) fully embracing the whole concept of a power user, or (C) dizzy on DRAM's rock bottom pricing and figured, 'why the **** not?' Whatever the rationale, boutique system builder AVADirect decided it would be a good idea to give you the same indulgent option in mobile.
You'll also have to be sitting pretty on a pile of cash, and if you have an extra $1,035 (and 92 cents, in case that's a deciding factor) weighing you down, you can swap the stock 6GB RAM option in the Clevo X7200 for 24GB of Crucial DDR3-1333. It's a new option, and one that's insanely appropriate considering the other high end hardware you can stuff in this thing. A stock setup starts at around $2,100, but for less than a down payment on a yacht, you can configure something that looks like this:
  1. 17.3-inch Full HD screen
  2. Ferrari Red paint job
  3. Intel Core i7 990X Extreme processor
  4. 2 x Nvidia GeForce GTX 580M videocards (SLI)
  5. 3 x OCZ Vertex 3 480GB SSD in RAID 0
  6. Blu-ray burner
  7. Bigfoot Killer NIC 802.11n Wi-Fi
  8. Microsoft Windows 7 Professional 64-bit
That'll set you back a little over $9,300, but hey, we have no doubt it will run Crysis, or anything else you throw at it. Excessive? Of course, but this is the same system builder that recently added a 48GB DDR3 option to its gaming desktops, so in a way, AVADirect's totally slacking here. Give it a few generations and this will read like a smartphone spec sheet anyway.
