September was never an official release date.
It was delayed from June, but no official date was given.

The claim of a September 19 release was from a video AMD made that included a partially obscured slide from the Phenom I release, which had "ember 19" showing.

I was told by some reviewers that AMD told them September. I may not review anymore but still pretty tight with some reviewers. Of course, that turned out to be fud. I'm not exactly looking forward to Bulldozer but more the next release on socket FM2.

When they delayed it from June, AMD made an estimation of 60-90 days, which puts it in about September. But still, no official date. And it was an estimation.
October 12 seems to be pretty likely.

But yeah, it looks like FM2 could be the one worth buying.

October 12th has been confirmed officially by AMD. If they delay any further than that then they will have some ****ed off customers and lose loyalty by a bunch of fan boys.

Yea I know. I'm agreeing. I don't think its going to beat out the I7 2600k series of cpu's.

Well I'll be surprised if it doesn't excel at something. I fully expect it to compete and be a valid choice for many users. I do believe their coming in way late and they'll have a tougher time when the Ivy Bridge is released. But I've been wrong before, we'll have to wait and see.

I think if anything it will only excel in programs that support their new instruction set.

I think it's a little early to judge its performance yet.
I'd rather wait for proper reviews, and tweaking from people at say xtremesystems - even reviewers at big name sites don't always know how to tweak a chip to get the best performance (eg most ignore NB frequency, memory timings with Phenom II chips)

That's the way I feel too, but they still give you stock and relative performance figures. Not everyone is going to spend hours tweaking the chip to get it's top performance.

Ah, but we will... and so will other performance geeks out there.
