Japanese Games turning Development over to Westerners

I wouldn't say they are admitting defeat, so much as "opening the doors to compromise." The Japanese industry has taken a few blows recently, and it makes sense to aim at a western audience for better sales. Something they had done before, but only after the games creation. Now they are just putting the potential other markets first. They aren't down and out yet. Some of them will never die (Nintendo or Square for example).

Plus, if you want to look at a beautiful recent example, pick up Catherine. Game made for a Japanese market. with no western look intended, and (now that it's finally out in English) we get to play an INCREDIBLE game!
