HL2 Ping

I have a very fast computer and a 5MB internet connection... but I always notice that my ping on HL2eathmatch is alway 100-150 higher than everyone elses.... and steam is the only program I will have open ... is there something like with ports you have to change?

Ping has to do with bandwidth and distance. Try finding a closer server.

If you live in a "Remote area".... somewhere like me... your ping will be higher depending on, like trotter said the distance the server is away from you. I know when it comes to any online game not just HL2-DM i always have one of the highest pings lol, just my luck.

I don't know about HL2, but BF2 lets you see what you're ping is when you're looking for servers.
