Well seeing as how the G71 is the GPU in the playstation 3 I say PC gaming is stepping up to next gen consoles, although the cell CPU that the PS3 has makes it more powerful then PCs now.

Consoles will never be capable to have better graphics. They update consoles every 3-4 years while new graphics cards for computers come out every couple of months. Future nVidia and ATI will destroy whatever it's in PS3 and 360.

Plus RE4 in general looks quite bad compared to the pc. There are much better graphic-wise PS2 games.

Oh BTW, Battlefield 2 looks better than both graphics-wise. Well hl2 is not realistic game, so it's kinda not a fair comparison. But Fear has better effects than hl2.

Well, consoles have the best hardware for a period of time when they are first launched. But true, the Nvidia 8 series cards and DX10 will put the Xbox360/PS3/Revolution to shame.

Personally, I like HL2's graphics a lot. BF2 is nice, but the character models in HL2 are much better. They are both very different though. HL2 is futuristic/shithole and BF2 is modern military.

There is no question, though, that they are both beautiful games.

Resident evil 4 graphics are much better than half-life 2 graphics. Not the PS2 version of resident evil 4, the gamecube version. The gamecube version has better graphics than the PS2 version, half-life 2 has great graphics. but, resident evil 4 has better graphics.

Compair Apples with Apples will you.

Compair a computer game with another computer game.
Compair a console game with another console game.
Compair RE4 PS2 version with RE4 GC version.
But don't compair PCs with Consoles. There is not comparison between the 2.

No offnese, but you have fanboy written all over you (literally). RE4 has nice graphics... for a console. HL2 has better graphics in every category, models have more polygons, it has much higher texture resolutions (especially with the texture mod), real-time physics, bullet holes in bodies, isn't overloaded with scripted body animations like RE4. The attention to detail is much higher then RE4, and the textures aren't miscolored like the GC and PS2 versions. Leon's jacket has all sorts of colors if you look really close.

PS2 fanboys will argue that PS2 graphics are better than PC, but that argument can't be won.

This is rediculous. For one, most people running a console are connecting it to their TV, and TV's can't compete with the graphical presentation of a monitor. Second, the output is entirely based on the output setup (display), which is often a divergence between the two mediums.

Arguing the graphics issue between consoles and PCs isn't really an issue that can be resolved.

Anyway, back to the topic at hand, HL2 definately beats RE graphics. (Although I would not point out Lost-Coast, because Lost-Coast was built to be a graphics showcase for the latest graphics and physics technology used in the game, and is intentionally impressive.)

they can't get passed the feeling that they need to stay faithfull to thier console.
