Which gaming system should I purchase?

Everyone is biased on this topic, there aint an argument about it, lol, it is the case. I am biased towards 360s cause I got one and I love them, and I've never really liked playstation. But that is my own personal opinion.

When it comes down to it, sure, PS3 has better specs on average than 360, but they are close enough that it shouldn't make a HUGE difference in my opinion. If you want something to watch movies on get a PS3 cause of the audio and blu ray etc, cause yeah, no doubt PS3 is superior in that regard. Easiest way to choose imo, look at the games that are out and that are coming out. The franchises such as Final Fantasy on playstation or halo on xbox. Forza or Gran Turismo. If you are a HUGE jap rpg fan (which I am) then you may want to lean towards PS3 cause they got a better potential market for it. When I chose my 360, well, for one the PS3 wasn't out, but the other games offered on 360 was AWESOME, and as I said I don't like playstations.

Go to IGN.com or something and just look at upcoming titles, in development or reviews of games that are already out or something, cause if you want a console for gaming, then the games are what matters, not the hardware. Are you going to play a crap game which looks amazing or an absolutely amazing game that looks fairly mediocre? By all means I don't mean that one console will have awesome looking games and the other crap looking games, just making you think about what you reckon is important in a game.

well blu-ray isnt used just for movies its also used for the discs, more space on the disc=better cutscenes, longer games, uncompressed files for faster loading, HD video and audio,... PS3 is a gaming console look at the upcoming games i like the games for Playstation better, Xbox is only 2 games i ever hear about Halo and Forze which dont really look too appealing.

But its your chice, both top end models are nearly same price, and you could still pick up a 60gb in like 3 months when the games start coming out. Personally if i ddint have any ps3's ad i had to make a choice i would def grab a ps3 instead of an elite

Only 2 games? lol, well for one thing it is more than I have heard about for the PS3 at least. But yet again, that is cause I am an xbox man and you are a PS3 fanboy. I don't bother looking too far into what PS3 has cause I don't have one.

Xbox has forza, halo, GoW, fallout 3 coming up, but i think PS3 has that too, oblivion which PS3 also has, and i think it is an improved version too! lol, dead or alive, but i dont play those cause they are basically anime porn fighting games, whole lot of sport games which ppl like but im a nerd, ****, if i wanted to play sport i would be a jock, assassins creed coming up! OMG /drools (by the by, is that coming out on PS3? I didn't check) blue dragon which lots of people are making a big hype about cause apparently it will be great, but I don't think it will be amazing by the looks of things, lol, but then again, I said that about geometry wars, and OMG GEOMETRY WARS! Do i need to say more. lol, that is the most played game on my 360 by far, i love that game. so simple but so addictive!

yeas assassins creed will be out simultaniously for the ps3 and 360, too bad it was also dumbed down thx to the 360 like this game,dmc4,gta4, and every game thats on both consoles. Also i hate that DOA extreme where you use girls to play minigames ,dude just get a gf and do stuff to her no pun intended but **** if you enjoy that game get a gf asap.

PS3 UT3,Haze,Heavenly Sword,Lair,Litle Big Planet,GT5,Ninja Gaiden Sigma,Rain,Area 52,Killzone 2 plus many many more

Xbox Halo3,Gow,Forza

Xbox has more and better games out right now, the PS3 has a better graphics card. Hope that helps

False. The 360 has a more powerful GPU, however the PS3 has a more robust CPU/SPE.

Also, if you want to read any rebuttles that are straight forward to the frothing that is TheEnd search for some of my posts. I loved my Playstation, and granted I now prefer the XBox, however the only person I can say in this thread that pretty much is right on is Sydzy. The nonsense the the 360 is at it's peak is crap. That the games are dumbed down is crap. Pretty much a lot of fan boyism, what it comes down to is this. As of now if you are unsure and can wait, wait for a while to see what pans out for the PS3 and decide then. If you want something now and go with the safe bet, get a 360. The PS3 may have the edge power wise (NOT graphics), but no one can say what is going to happen and it seems many developers are jumping the "exclusive" ship, which is not good news. I hope Sony can get the needed development tools out there, because I'd really like to see what it can do.

UT3 and Haze is coming to 360, it's being delayed so PC and PS3 would get a temporary exclusive but I would never get the PS3 version anyways, I am getting it for PC.

The thing is, almost all blockbuster titles are also coming to 360. Resident Evil 5, GTAIV, Devil May Cry 4, UT3, Assassin's Creed, Rock Band, Guitar Hero III, Fallout 3, Soul Caliber IV, Kane & Lynch and the list goes on and on.

360 has a better price, better controller, and a better online service. I can't see how anyone can go wrong with the 360. Also add Halo 3, Halo Wars (if your into console RTS games), Mass Effect, and Fable II to the lineup and you've got a solid console. The only bad thing with the 360 is if you have to get it repaired, which fortunately I never had to.

Ninja Gaiden Sigma is just a rehash of the original Xbox version with new stuff like moves and weapons, ain't exactly exciting, isn't it?. Killzone 2 looks pretty, but I just can't get over the bad Dualshock controls for shooter games, tried playing R:FoM and it just didn't do it for me. A lot of those Japanese style games like Heavenly Sword just aren't my cup of tea, and I don't like racing. In the end, it comes down to the games. If you want shooter, action, and online based games, go 360, if you're into Japanese RPGs the PS3 is good. Both consoles can play a lot of the blockbuster games, so either way it's going to be worthwhile.

But Haze and UT3 are not going to be completely PS3 exclusive, just temporarily.

There is only one PS3 exclusive that I am interested in, and that is MGS4.

Xbox Halo3,Gow,Forza

As it ends up the 360 will be the more advanced version of the consoles, but yes, if Ubisoft spend the extra time and money optimizing it for the PS3 then it could've been better. Not sure if they would've though, even if it was a PS3 exclusive as it costs more to work with the PS3 processor.

I don't own the 360 or PS3, but I think I'd lean towards the PS3. Free online, great exclusives that don't have a hope of making it onto the PC (Ratchet and Clank, GOW, Resistance), and Blu Ray game disks. It has more power overall, and hopefully companies will take the time to work with it.
360 exclusives usually come to the PC anyway (and you should have a gaming PC ABOVE ALL) which is good because console shooters make me lol. Gears will be coming to PC soon, as will Assassin's Creed, DMC 4, GTA 4, Bioshock, and in a year or so Halo 3. Ill personally be using a 360 gamepad for Assassin's Creed and DMC4, so if you must have console controllers for those games there's a fix. Good luck getting Ratchet and Clank on PC though.
