Cell Processor, hype or not.

...watching some footage of E3. Is Sony hyping the cell too much you think? I recall them saying before the release of the ps2 that that would be able to produce toy story-like graphics...I dont know the nuts and bolts of the tech though.

the cell proc sounds nuts and just wait til you see the graphics! the processor is 8 3.2ghz cpu's which is insane, and it marks the first time in which a console outspecs current PCs for gaming!

check out the info on the RSX too, nvidia's videochip inside the ps3.

the ps3 will **** on the xbox.. for the first time it looks like i will have to go with the playstation..

theres definetly alot of RAW processing power in the PS3 going to be a superior console

They have a lot more power than any pc out there. The only pcs with more polygon draeing power would be the quad-sli systems.

actually, its only 1 multipurpose core/processor and 7 SPE's. Big difference. Still, impressive but many people dont realize this.
