What makes a game a double-A title or a triple-A title? Like what defines that? Is Bioshock a AAA game because it sold over a million copies, or it got a high rating or what?

Depends on where you look. Almost every place has a different rating system. Some say Gold Or Platnium. While others use a 1 to 5 star rating.

But most of the time each system you check will give a key or legend as to the criteria needed to be meet to reach certain marks.

I remember EGM (Electronics Gaming Monthly) used to use several factors. From gameplay to looks to personal opinion.

Some people go off of a feel for the game. Meaning that they give their view of hte game and rate it that way. While others will base it off of sales.

There is no system that anyone site or person goes off of. Just have to ask each person how they rated that game.

Popularity is a deciding factor, level of violence is another which also limits the rating.

You will see simillarities bettween the most popular games, they have the most advertising and as such the larger companies have a bigger say.

As to your question, what do you like about the games you play, I can attest to the fact that a game needs to have a gain, whether it be money or abillities, a game needs variety, it should not be lineere.

money is a gain that furthers your gain, A game needs a monetary system, a game needs a sytem of advancment, a game needs ambience,
