Best LAN PArty Game?

What are your LAN party suggestions? It could really be of any genre for any PC machine. It can be a really old game or a really new one, it doesn't matter. I'm just looking for game suggestions. There are 12 people who are going to play. But if you know a game that supports less than that but is good for maybe 4 or 6 people, we can always split up th groups; but ultimately I'm looking for 12 player multiplayer thats really fun.

C&c Generals is ridiculously fun on LAN .. but be sure to limit superweapons!

IN which way is C&C Generals good? Can you explain? I mean why should I play C&C Generals when I can play C&C3 Kane's Wrath you know?
