battlefield 2 special forces problem

Whenever I try to join a game, it loads then boots me out saying they don't allow modified versions of the game. I never modified it, can anyone help me solve this problem so I can play?

Help would be nice, since I'm irratated already and this problem is making it worse.

You have to repatch your game to the current version. Dont ask me why, it just works.

The problem occurs alot repatching is the only possible way of fixing it.
