Any advice on my computer system; Any recomendations?

PLZ Give your advice on my future system and any part recomendations.

In the near future i plan on building a gaming system of my own. Ive never built a computer before and i have done endless reading on several different possibilities of parts to make the best system at a descent price. Below i will list my parts and hopefully SOMEONE can help me to make better decisions on my parts and give me some good advice on which parts to get. Basically i am asking for your reccomendation on good gaming parts for a gaming system. Good ram was especially hard to choose.

Asus cd burner 52x32x52
NU technology dvd burner 8xdvdr+-
Windows xp home

Yes that's what I was going to say. What about the Radeon 9800 series? Go to pricewatch.com. They have a good list of video cards. Everything else seems fine except the cpu. 400fsb? Not very good. You can get better than that for and AMD. Nice ram. What's your budget for this? I don't know anything about the motherboard though. Where are you getting parts from?

Definitely a better video card, and also if you wanted to save a few bucks you could use your dvd burner to burn audio cd's as well.
