Rite,
Ive put in a second processor to my Dell Poweredge 2550 server, and i booted into windows 2003 server as i usually do and I was surprised to see that it did not come up in either device manager or task manager....
I installed the 2nd processor into the 2nd slot.....heatsink.....and the VRM (voltage regulator module) which dell say you have to install and all that works fine....I can see the processor in the bios and it seems to work fine....exactly the same spec as processor 1....
Do i have to do a re-install of windows server to fix this?? Because at the moment it has no roles and is pretty much in a fresh install state so reinstalling wouldn't be a problem.....but before i do that...am i missing something obvious?
