Default Computer Lab

Hello,
I have a project still in the progress build a computer lab first time so I can learn and have better understanding about server and switch virtualization. I will start with Windows Server 2008 R2 then try Linux know nothing about this yet. As far as the hardware I'm going with:
Mobo - ASRock Z97 Extreme4/3.1 (so far there is no review on this yet last week)
CPU: i5-4690K Devil's Canyon Quad-Core 3.5 GHz LGA1150
RAM: DDR3 240 pin 1600 MHz 16 GB
HDD: WD Blue WD10EZEX 1TB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s
RAID: 5
Eventually I'm going to test a web server on this lab and add Cisco physical switch. I would like to hear what you guys think?
