Default how to communicate two boards in one case.

Okay, so i am wokring on a case mod. I am addign a micro atx and a atx mobo.

Bother are intel i7
I will be running windows 10 on main board, and one second I havent decided yet, its all based on following information

I want similiar to the old school black momba case where they had a mini server on top and a mainboard on bottom, yet shared one mouse / keyboard and where able to switch between the both of them with default putton presses.
Now is there a way to do this outside of a KVM switch?

and if so, can soem one direct me to a guide in how to set this up?
