Was the truck insured with liability or full coverage, hitting a deer at least in Kentucky is covered by comprehensive, which is any act of god beyond your controll. Also if the trucks value was only 500$ how is it feasible to drop almost three times the value into fixing it back exactly as it was. Why not take the airbag and steering column out and It will sell for between 700 and 1000, that's over the value of the truck and that bag is either malfunctioning or it is gonna blow out eventually on its own. I guess I am ultimately saying that it could be handled a lot cheaper, but it wouldn't be as visually appealing. and I don't know the whole entire story with the insurance side of things.
