LoseThos: A 64-Bit Operating System

LoseThos is an open-source 64-bit operating system that was created from scratch without any compatibility with Windows or *nix. It is not your regular main-stream OS and it doesn't aspire to become one. It is built for a programmer and it gives the programmer unchecked privilege over its kernel.

The attractive feature of LoseThos OS is its minimalism. In a world where every operating system tries to solve everyone's problem, this is an OS that was created for one sole purpose only "hacker's delight".
As the OS author puts it:
"LoseThos is for programming as entertainment. It empowers programmers with kernel privilege because it's fun. It allows full access to everything because it's fun."

The developer of the OS clearly states that "LoseThos is not trying to be bullet-proof" so use it at your own risk, but he also adds that "It reboots in 2 seconds plus BIOS time", so in the time you open your task manager and "End Task" your hung application in Windows, you would have rebooted the computer in LoseThos and written a 'Hello World' program. "It has a new language roughly based on C/C++. It's more than C and less than C++ so, maybe, it's C+."

The absence of network support or Unicode might mislead you to think that it is an archaic OS, but it has multi-core support and a 64-bit compiler. LoseThos does master-slave MultiCore, fully under the programmer's control.
You can take a look at some of the demo videos in their website, before you download the live cd (iso) and give it a try yourself.
You will appreciate it better if you are an old school hacker who loves the power and freedom that comes with the absence of a little something called "User Space".
