YouTube: blank screen when I switch to ‘full screen'

On watching YouTube videos via Internet Explorer and Firefox, a fault occurs. I can watch the video on small screen, but when I switch to full screen, although I can hear the sound, there is no picture, just a dark blank screen.

This fault does not occur when I watch YouTube videos via Chrome.

Can anyone suggest a fix?

Update Flash in Firefox.

Yesterday I downloaded from Filehippo updates for Flash Player (both IE and Firefox).The problem still exists.

The newest update on FileHippo is a beta for Flash 11. Uninstall Flash completely from both IE and FF, and then download the official Flash 10.3 from Adobe's website.

I downloaded the official Flash 10.3 from Adobe's website - unfortunately this didn't fix the problem.

Did you completely remove it like I suggested as well? And not just installing over top?

I managed to fix the problem by disabling the hardware acceleration.
