alright so why do they make sound cards espically for 4.1, ive also had a friend tell me his sound card didnt work with those type of speakers. i aprreciate the replys, and i am just trying to make sure before i make a big purchase

4.1 means

1 woofer,

2 each for front and rear

no center present

They dont make them "espically" for 4.1. Sound cards support a maximum output capability. Highest is 7.1 (at the moment)- but those cards work with all speakers under 7.1.

That card supports 5.1:

"5.1 surround and 24-bit/192kHz stereo DVD-Audio playback"

So those speakers (4.1) will be fine.

His card most likely doesnt support the required channels.

I own the Audigy 2 ZS. Nice card. Your purchase is fine.

However- may I suggest these speakers? Amazing bang-for-your-buck value and youd avoid spending the extra $62. 5.1 audio for $53 cannot be beat. If you have doubts- read the newegg reviews.
