Which X-Fi to get?

I don't do any gaming but listen to a lot of music and like great quality sound. What would be my best bet?

Xtreme music if you can find one, i think they were phased out for some reason but you might be able to find one, failing that get the "gamer" thats basically the same card with the same features.

That they are not as good for music as some others are. They adhere more to the gamers.

For HTPC purposes I would steer away from Creative and go towards M-Audio and Auzentech

those cards are junk. the x-fi is the best sound card that is highly compatible with stuff. cards like m-audio and emule are better cards, but they have compatibilities issues with simple things like media center

cut it out. it will never reach the level of out board sound because the cost to do it would make it impractical to put one a motherboard. it will always introduce extra noise too because it will be too close to other circuits on the mobo

don't listen to that bullship that vista is promoting
