Windows media player unresponsive at times?

When playing videos in W M P if I click the play bar to advance say from 1:00 min to 1:20 for example sometimes it will take an unreasonable amount of time to fast forward. It doesnt do it all the time but its doing it enough to become annoying concidering i view 100+ vids a day sometimes.

This is on a computer with a 128 meg vid card, 3.0e gig P4/HT, 1 gig PC2700 DDR SDRAM (2.5-3-3-7 @ 166 MHz) ram anyone know what i can do to fix this???

Try upgrading to MP10

That is if you haven't already. MP is good and it works just like the rest of them. Do you have a lot of processes running because that could cause some lag time when doing this. Check your startup programs just incase.

In XP, go to START, RUN, type MSCONFIG. Go to the STARTUP tab. Disable all but your antivirus and reboot. Then try your MP

MP is media player. MP 10 is... yes Media Player version 10 (Microsofts latest release of MP)
