My old computer with XP had a recording device that had options to record sounds from at least three sources, e.g. “Line Inâ€, “Microphoneâ€, “Stereoâ€, “Waveâ€, and etcetera. My new computer with XP (using the SigmaTel Audio Playback/Recording device) only allows recording from “Line In†and “Microphoneâ€.
Is this an XP update that was designed to prevent us from recording sounds played within the computer? Is there a way to enable recording with this update from within the computer? Is there playback/recording device available for XP that has such a feature. I've noticed from browsing message boards that the latest versions of XP and Vista seem to have this problem/exclusion.
