I am currently getting the Logitech Z-5500's and all I have is crappy integrated sound, I know I want to buy a new sound card, but I'm not sure how much to spend. Do I need S/PDIF out or Digital or both. I mainly play music, and will now watch movies once I get these speakers, no gaming though, sorry that upsets a lot of you, lol. I know these speakers have a digital decoder but i'm not really sure what that means, any advice/help anyone could give me would be greatly appreciated.

I would suggest the Soundblaster Live 24 Bit from Creative Labs. It's fairly priced at around 35 bucks ( I found 1 at my local Best Buy for 28 bucks ) and sounds great, comes with alot of nice tools also.

Buy an Audigy 2 NX (ive got one and its awesome) or the new Audigy 2 ZS sounds pretty nice too. The only problem tho is that neither of these have Linux driver support. The NX is ~AU$200 and the ZS is ~AU$400, but i reckon its worth shovelling out the mad wong $$$
