So my new monitor runs my res in 1900X1200 and media player wont let me run movies like that. So what im wondering is are their any programs that will and if not whats the best free dvd program to use anyways

Nice actually plays the movies! They kinda look streched out though. ANy advice?
Also I have this 7 speaker creative setup is their any codecs to take use of all speakers? Cause the 5.1 option only does 5

DVDs arent 7.1, they are 5.1 at best. That is the problem. There isn't anything to play on those extra 2 speakers.
If it looks stretch out, you need to set the aspect ratio. Go to Video -> Aspect Ratio, and set it depending on the video. Usually keeping it on Default works fine, but some videos are messed up and you need to set it manually.
